As the colour fades to beige
As the print fades from the page
Locked up in a spellbound cage
Resting in suspended age
When we’re gone, we become the stars
But stars can be forgotten sometimes
The grass continues to grow
The wind continues to blow
Life goes on, it ebbs and flows
Without a care for where you go
When we’re gone, we become the rain
But we don’t consider every drop
Consider every petal on every flower
The insignificance of an hour
Stare at the sunset from a tower
Seems we have such little power
When we’re gone, we become a leaf on a tree
But leaves fall away and decay
Memories disappear as time goes by
Like so many things and I don’t know why
SOLO
When we’re gone, we’re a stone on the shore
Tossed into the sea, as waves crumble
Carried off to an unfamiliar place
Do you remember me?
Am I in your dream?
Do you remember me?
